What this site collects

Nothing. This website has no analytics software, sets no cookies, embeds no third-party scripts, and does not build a profile of anyone who visits. You can read every page without identifying yourself in any way.

Server logs

Like nearly every website, the server that hosts this site keeps standard access logs. These record the requested address, the time of the request, the requesting IP address, and the browser's self-reported name. They are generated automatically by the web server, are used only to keep the site running and secure, and are not combined with anything else or used to identify individual readers.

Links to booksellers

This site links to Amazon and to several independent bookshops. Once you follow one of those links you are on someone else's website, governed by their privacy policy rather than this one. We receive no report about what you do there.

Children

This site is intended for a general adult readership and does not knowingly collect information from children.

Your rights

Because we hold essentially nothing about visitors, there is usually nothing to request or delete. If you have subscribed to a mailing list or written to us, you may ask what we hold, ask for a correction, or ask us to delete it. Write to us and we will take care of it.

Changes

If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted here with a new date at the top. Material changes will be described plainly rather than buried.
